Spiral-welded large-diameter pipes from Salzgitter

Modern production equipment is used to manufacture spiral-welded pipes in the very best quality, primarily for high-pressure applications:

 high-pressure gas pipelines

 gas storage pipes

 oil and product pipelines

 water and sewage pipelines

More than 95 % of our annual production are for gas and oil pipelines in high strength steel grades.

The manufacturing process which we have further developed consists of two steps (HTS-Technology):

 pipe-forming combined with continous tack-welding,

final internal and external submerged arc welding at separate welding stations.

This enables us to achieve the highest requirements and tightest tolerances with respect to:

 straightness

 roundness

 accuracy of diameter

even without cold expansion.

Our manufacturing process for spiral-welded pipes is not bound to specific diameters. Within our minimum and maximum available sizes we suit the individual requirements regarding internal or external diameters.

Steel pipes can be produced to individual specifications within the following limits:

wall thickness up to 21 mm

 diameter 610 - 1.676 mm

pipe length up to 18,2 m

Based on EN 10208-2 or API 5L steel grades L 555 MB or X 80 can be used for pipe manufacturing. The manufacturing capacity is approx. 200.000 t per year.
